Just Pinochle is a free online four-handed partnership pinochle game. Sign in once, pick a rule set, and you're at a table — alone with three bots while you wait, or with three other humans for a competitive Elo rating, or with your usual partner via a private invite link. We're a small operation run by people who actually play pinochle, so the game logic reflects how real games are scored, not a generic template.

What's different about Just Pinochle

• Real partnership rules. Bidding, passing, meld review, trick play — all four phases the way you'd play them at a kitchen table. Three built-in rule sets (Standard, Family Rules, Double Deck) plus the ability to save your own custom variant.
• Bots that don't embarrass themselves. Three difficulty levels — Easy, Medium, Hard. The Hard bots count cards, detect when an opponent has shown out of a suit, and cash master cards intelligently. Useful warm-ups, not punching bags.
• Two ratings, not one. Bot games change your Casual Elo only. Your competitive Ranked Elo is reserved for all-human games so a string of bot wins can never corrupt it.
• Private tables for your usual group. Six-character invite codes or share links. Private tables don't appear in the public lobby; only people with the code can join.
• No ads, no tracking-for-sale, no spam. We use Google Analytics for anonymous usage stats and that's the extent of third-party data. We don't sell anything to anyone.

Is Just Pinochle really free?

Yes. The full game is free and we never gate features behind payment. We accept optional tips to cover server and domain costs.

What rule sets does Just Pinochle support?

Standard (game to 150, bid from 25, with passing), Family Rules (game to 1000, bid from 150 by tens, K + Q count as point cards, no passing), and Double Deck (80-card deck, 20 cards per hand, game to 500). You can also save your own custom variant.

Do I need to register?

Yes — registration takes about a minute and is required so we can track your stats and prevent spam. We email a verification link; we never share your address.

Can I play against bots?

Yes. Bots can fill any empty seat at three difficulty levels. Games against bots count toward your separate Casual rating; your competitive Ranked Elo is only affected by games against humans.

Can I play with my regular pinochle partner?

Yes. Create a private table and share the six-character invite code or share link. Private tables don't appear in the public lobby — only people with the code can join.

How is the rating calculated?
